I love how the author has a MacGyver spin to electronics .
Good read, inventive resourceful, some profound ideas. Not entirely for the beginner, does do a decent overview of radio history.
Interesting little book, well written and an easy read. Really neat to find someone putting out good, old fashioned tinkerer type books. Worth it for me.
If you are interested in crystal radio or even just amateur radio in general I would suggest it. Also, I strongly suggest getting the companion book "Instruments of Amplification" by Friedrichs.
I enjoyed this book very much. It provided very good insight into crystal radios and how they function. The author even responded to an email question.
This is a great book well thought out and easy to understand.This is a very hard book to get so if you can get one makes a great gift for someone who is creative minded.I would recomend to others.
